ID Card Photo Acceptable Photo Guidelines

Every member of the Albright College community is issued a photo identification card which must be carried at all times. For students, this card allows access to their individual residence hall, the library, the dining hall, and the campus bookstore. It is also a means to ensure that only those with authorization are frequenting the campus. The cost for a lost or inappropriately damaged identification card is $10.00.

All incoming freshman and new students are required to receive a free photo ID card. In order to have the card produced a photo is required. This can be done on campus but could result in a delay in receiving your card. In order to ensure the timely manufacturing and delivery of your card we ask that you submit a photo by logging in and then using either the File Upload form to upload an existing picture or through the Webcam Upload form to take a new picture.

What must my photo look like?
Your photo should be similar to a passport or drivers license photo. If your not sure follow these guidelines:
  • In color
  • Taken within the last 6 months to reflect your current appearance
  • Taken in front of a plain white or off-white background
  • Taken in full-face view directly facing the camera
  • With a neutral facial expression and both eyes open
  • Taken in clothing that you normally wear on a daily basis:
    • Do not wear a hat or head covering that obscures the hair or hairline, unless worn daily for a religious purpose. Your full face must be visible, and the head covering must not cast any shadows on your face.
    • Headphones, wireless hands-free devices or similar items are not acceptable in your photo.
    • If you normally wear prescription glasses, a hearing device or similar articles, they may be worn for your photo.
    • Dark glasses or non-prescription glasses with tinted lenses are not acceptable unless you need them for medical reasons (a medical certificate may be required)
    • Glare on glasses is not acceptable in your photo. Glare can be avoided with a slight downward tilt of the glasses or by removing the glasses or by turning off the camera flash.
